Suggested day out (particularly for those with Gold Card benefits) make a group, travel to Lyttelton, catch the ferry to Diamond Harbour, enjoy a picnic and the local coffee, return on the ferry and regular bus home. For the fit and able the Bridle Path walk or the Gondola is/are accessible from the Lyttelton service. You may wish to light a candle to symbolise a life still significant, and there will be an opportunity to write a personal message on an angel card to place on our tree. In the New Year the messages will be gathered together and interred at our Living Memorial at Otukaikino to form a tribute in memory of those who no longer share Christmas with us.
Light refreshments will be served.

A police spokeswoman said the fruit was purchased at a supermarket in Geraldine on Saturday morning.
Police were investigating the matter, she said.
