Are you thinking about selling your home? Or just ready for a fresh look? Here are some tips you can get done over the upcoming long weekend to get your home looking spic-an-span!

Entrance, entrance, entrance!
First impressions count. Make sure that as soon as you walk in the front door the space is clean, clear and light! A feature painting or fresh flowers give off a great effect.

Clean your house, start one room at a time and get rid of any items that you no longer need/use. If you’re thinking of selling getting rid of old junk will also make the moving process a whole lot easier.

Hide away any leftover clutter from each room or consider putting unused items in storage. Reducing home clutter saves you time, energy, and makes your life less stressful! Everyone has their ideal level of simplicity — what matters most is keeping what’s essential to you, and getting rid of the rest.

• Go further than a standard clean up. Polish up skirting boards, window sills, walls, and get rid of any stains in the carpet (you can hire a rug doctor from the supermarket).
• Ensure your home is odour free- scented candles have a lasting effect and can rid the home of cooking and pet odours.
• Get new light bulbs (especially bright LED lights for the kitchen), Light rooms can make all the difference.
• Hide away electrical cables, distracting clutter can take away from positive qualities.
