Wanted : caring, fun-loving host families for our female Japanese high school students
Southern Cross Language Institute, located in Merivale, has been in hibernation for three years but is now excited about welcoming Japanese students back from mid-April (after Easter) this year. They will stay until mid-March 2024. If you have a spare room, would like to share our kiwi culture, and learn more about Japan, then hosting could be a great opportunity for you. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
