What do you think of Christchurch's new sculpture?

Georgia Reporter from Stuff

Hi neighbours,

You might notice a new addition to Victoria Square in the new year! A new $319,000 taxpayer-funded sculpture paying tribute to the Treaty of Waitangi signatories is likely to be installed in the Christchurch park.

The two 4.75 metre-tall upright waka, titled Mana Motuhake, is by carver Fayne Robinson, and commemorates the significant Treaty signatories and by extension would support the achievements and memory of Queen Victoria. To read more, click here.

What do you think of the sculpture? Will it add something new to Victoria Square? Share your thoughts with us in the replies below!
