Kia ora friends and neighbours. A few of you might know about our daughter’s determination to follow a career as a performing musician.
Nina has been offered a place to study for her Masters Degree in Performance Trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music in London starting in September this year and is currently fundraising to help try and meet the tuition and accommodation costs. Music was a key part of of her education at Cashmere High, the staff inspired her to think big so she has taken that idea and run with it! As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
