SFD demonstrates alternative computer desktop environments like GNU/Linux and BSD - Unix operating system descendants - providing installation help for new users.
Emphasis is on computer security, extending the life of desktop and laptop hardware, discovering new creative tools and helping to improve public ICT independent skills.
Come join the community fun of Software Freedom Day this Saturday - an annual Christchurch event since 2004.
