I love these guys to death but unfortunately I'm not able to give them as much of my attention as I'd like. And as a result of my lack of cuddle time with them, they are both very skittish when I open their hutch.

They will both be 12 months old in Dec and Jan. Bazza is long haired and predominantly white with black and ginger patches. Ron is short haired, and ginger all over with a few white hairs on the top of his head.

They LOVE grass and will literally be your lawn mower. They also love purple stemmed kale, celery, carrot, and lemon sorell. I give them a huge variety of food but these seem to be their favs.

Please email me Kimberley.v.keil@gmail.com or call 02108106437 if you're interested. I can send you pics.

$15 each or $20 for both.

Price: $15

The Quarrymans Trail will be a cycle way that comes from the City to Halswell along quiet streets or separated cycle paths. If cyclists like this path, it will help our rush hour congestion, so it is also a great facility for those who have no intention of ever riding a bike.
Spokes want to ensure that cyclists DO like the planned route and the crossings etc along the way and the best way to do that is to come and check out the route and talk to others who will be using the trail.
If you can't make the ride then drop into Te Hapua on Wed 26th October 5-30-7.30 to look at the plans and comment.

However there are a few details appear to be omitted from the booklet available from local libraries/ service centres - such as:

*From 2-4 homes are required to bought from both Roker St and Barrington St owner whereby the homes will be removed / demolished and the land will then be used for the cycle way. This may be quite costly to achieve & may require 2 extra sets of lights on Barrington St, and Strickland St. Also 2 at Frankleigh St and Sparks Road round a bouts.
*Opening up the Roker Street cul-de-sac have made many Roker Street residents become upset & concerned that their living situations & feeling of safety will become very compromised as a result.
*There will be reduced car parking in Roker Street as well as other streets.
*The Cycle route is designed primarily for the "Interested but Concerned" cyclists & not for the experienced cyclists who have no concerns for the more direct & busier routes. ie 'catering for the 10 -80 year olds'
* The document is stating costs & changes will be minor for Roker Street - ?due to only putting in Slow - kph signs and making this a cycle / car shared road - this may however mean that some cyclists choose a safer ride on the footpaths - if the road has many cars parked already??

Please do pick up an information booklet from the Library / service centre and please do attend one of their drop in sessions on either: Wednesday 26th October (as above) or on Sunday 30th from 10-12pm at the Boatshed Café.

We need our residents to take a good interest in this and make an informed submission re: whether you support their preferred route - if you do not - please give what sort of route you would prefer?? There are many varied responses / preferences on our Somerfield Residents Association Facebook page. If you haven't joined our page already - I would encourage you to - our discussion has been awesome!!
We want to hear from you also either on our fb page or via Neighbourly please!!!
Your voice is very important & anywhere may end up being affected by the New 13 Cycle ways proposed for all of CHCH!!
Attached is their preferred cycle lanes for Quarryman's Trail, a summary of the 13 cycle ways, and lastly is a variation of the redline option which a few of us will be supporting via submissions. Please feel free to indicate your choice or another viable option while linking it with the other cycle routes.
All in all, we are very hopeful for a good resolution for most of our community while we realise there will always be someone who didn't want it "In their backyard" etc.
Or google more info on this trail and the other trails!
