Use it or lose it - Your Local Pharmacy

Marina from Avonhead

We know the tactics - kill off our locals with loss leaders, then milk us unashamedly. Once our community pharmacies are gone they won't come back, leaving the market to the intruders - in this case Australian giants Chemist Warehouse and Countdown with their in-store pharmacies. The intruders don't charge the dispensing fee to lure customers in but they still have to pay it to the government. I know in many households money is tight and 5 Dollars can go a long way. But if you can - please continue to support our local pharmacists. I would hate to lose the knowledge many of these pharmacists have accumulated and I have saved many doctors visits by simply talking to our pharmacist. I go to Hei Hei pharmacy in Wycola Ave.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
