BARKING DOG
Judging my its bark, a medium-large dog was constantly barking from 3am-4.30am last night. It was too far away for me to work out where it was but possibly in the block - Tinakore Street, Hei Hei Road, Waterloo Road, and Wycola Avenue. Either the owners are stone-deaf or on drugs, and neighbours living nearby don't mind - but I do. I need my sleep and your dog is a nuisance. Either give it away to someone who can discipline it, or look after it properly or take it to the SPCA. Neighbours - please phone Dog Control at the Council or the Police.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
