Collett's Corner

Camia from Lyttelton

Kia ora koutou

Are you curious to know what is happening on Collett's Corner? The architects are presenting early stage plans for local feedback Oct 30th at the Lyttelton Community Board Room (25 Canterbury St).

The purpose of this design workshop is two fold: the designers will walk the audience through the concept plans and answer questions; and they will host a workshop to brainstorm ideas for the design of the courtyard.

This meeting is also for to people who dream of owning their own business in Lyttelton, it is a good time to attend and ask questions about the building. The design is at the stage where prospective tenants can input on the plans and shape the building to meet their business needs.

The building will have a restaurant, hot baths, shops, a coworking space, apart-hotel, cinema and bar. If you would like to run one of these businesses please come and if you can't make it to the meeting please get in touch, we would like to meet with you.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
