Transport Volunteers
Hello everyone! I'm Jasmine, the Volunteer Coordinator for Dementia Canterbury, and I am seeking more transport volunteers to enable our clients to attend activity groups that make a real difference to their lives. Transport is a huge barrier for our clients, as many have lost their licences and are unable to take public transport. If you have a couple of hours a week or fortnight to spare, I'd love to hear from you! We offer comprehensive training, and our current volunteers say that it's an amazing opportunity to meet really interesting people and make a difference in their lives. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
