As we prepare to celebrate an incredible milestone, Tranzit’s Centenary, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has helped get us to where we are today. As we look forward to the next 100 years, we’re on the hunt for old photographs, uniform, stationery, tickets, certificates, badges or Tranzit memorabilia that you’re happy to loan to us for inclusion in a special exhibition to be held in November 2025. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
