Thank you to all those involved.
Hi Maree LYF4U
www.lyf4u.co.nz...
The 3 Projects for #masterton hospital ward10 is now officially complete.
We are all connected to this Hospital, in one way or another.
It is easy to find fault
It is also easy to find gratitude.
Project 1.
In May 2023,I began an 18-month project with the Wairarapa Hospital (specifically SurgicalWard 10 ) to enhance and beautify a palliative care room (16) on the ward.
To offer a more conducive soothing spacefor both potential recovery and the passing over of loved ones.
Project 2.
This was to raise funds to purchase Lazy boy chairs for the families (who may stayover with their loved ones)
Enough money was raised through a Give a little Page, to buy 3 chairs.
The chairs were donated at cost by Bryans Furniture
Project 3
.A LYF 4U Care Cupboard;
#Mitre10Masterton donated the cupboard- which is now stocked with toiletries, blankets, massage lotions andmore to support both patients and families, was installed, and is in use now.
Project 1.
The goal was to paint the walls, add colorful canvas prints, TVs, air distillers, music, in a room.
The project grew into repurposing 3 rooms. (16,17,18)
This project is now completed; with Thursday last week, seeing the sign installed on the ward wall, acknowledging all the businesses who donated goods.
I was surprised and humbled to receive a beautiful bunch of flowers, along with morning tea; gathered by some of the staff while I was there for the sign installation,
Also a card with;
We would like to officially thank you for the special work you have done to our ward and the organisation at large...
Your inspiration has created homely relaxing rooms for comfort cares and palliative patients. Your choice of furnishings has created a wonderful atmosphere enjoyed by both patients and families
Medical Surgical Ward | Wairarapa
Thank you Kudzie and the team at SW10) for the many phone calls/texts and emails over the 18 months....and allowing me to work around the hospital's very busy strict schedules.. to organize and synchronize the process to prepare, pre, and post painting of rooms..in such tight time constraints.
To the maintenance staff, (whom Osh regulations required use of,) when removing machinery, then reinstalling. As well as the hanging of the beautiful sign, TV, and canvases.
And thank you to Best Blokes Painters who were willing to be flexible with time restraints and gave so much time to paint all the walls.
To all those who donated goods, time or money.
It was great to meet and talk with so many local businesses, as well as get to know what they did, when doing all the pickups.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
58.9% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
26.3% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.8% ... It is complicated
