Join Saturday's BOOKSHOP HOP and be into win!

This Saturday is the Wairarapa Bookshop Hop; a collaborative local event to celebrate New Zealand Bookshop Day. The best booksellers in Wairarapa have come together to give you the ultimate book-lovers day out.
One of the (many) great things about Wairarapa is we have 13 fantastic bookshops all within 30 minutes - or less - drive of one and other, so it's entirely possible for you to hop around all 13 bookshops in a single day! Pick up a brochure from our i-SITE teams and collect stamps along the way with a purchase at each store. Each stamp puts you in the draw to win $650 in bookshop vouchers! (you can pick up the map at any of the stores too)
Many of the stores will also run their own promotions on the day and the map includes special food and beverage offers from Finom Kitchen in Carterton and The White Swan in Greytown.
All the details are here www.mrsblackwell.com...
Participating bookshops: Carterton - Almo's Books, Take Note; Featherston - Chicken and Frog, Featherston Ferret, For The Love of Books, Messines Bookshop, Mr Feather's Den, The Dickensian Bookshop; Greytown - Mrs Blackwell's Village Bookshop; Martinborough - The Martinborough Bookshop; Masterton - Bear Flag Books & Retro, Hedleys Books, PaperPlus.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Builder Wanted or seeking builder (LBP).

Phil from Carterton District

We are looking for a semi-retired builder or solo LBP to supervise / co-work with me while I undertake an extension project as a self-build . Rates to be negotiated prior to commencement. Currently in the design stage at present with Architect. I have experience from past house builds so not a raw beginner, both in design and construction.
Thanks Phil
