Masks for Life: Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis NZ.

We started making masks for our family members, and have extended into the community. We have quilted and sewn for many years, so our masks are excellent quality.

We do not charge for the masks, but ask people to go online and make a donation to Cystic Fibrosis NZ at give.everydayhero.com... We suggest that people might like to donate $15 for one mask, or $25 for two, but leave the amount paid entirely up to the purchaser.

Cystic Fibrosis is an incurable genetic condition that affects both the lungs and the digestive system. Until very recently there has been no cure and no effective treatment. Life expectancy for someone with Cystic Fibrosis is around 35 years. We have a five year old in our family with Cystic Fibrosis, and know first-hand the level of support needed by both the child and the family.

We also ask people to go online and sign the petition to the NZ Govt, to fund Trikafta which is a new “miracle drug” for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers. (www.parliament.nz...)

Our masks are:
• Fitted style
• 100% cotton
• Double layer
• High thread count quilter’s fabric
• Reversible
• Anti-fogging style (great if you wear glasses)
• Three sizes (child, Med, Large)

If you would like masks please contact: Lesley 0212996389
Pickup Carterton, and can deliver to Greytown and Featherston

Nureddin Abdurahman has plenty of first hand experience of racism.

When a woman walked into his Wellington shop and said his religion is evil and that Muslims have the potential to “bring jihad and kill us all”, the shop owner was disappointed, but not surprised.

Abdurahman shared a 15-minute video of the interaction with the woman online, which created a significant response and prompted conversations about how to appropriately discuss religion.

Race Relations Commissioner Meng Foon viewed the video and said there is “no need to fear Islamophobia in Aotearoa as there no need to fear Christianity”.
”A father-of-three and owner of Kilbirnie’s Near And Far Import Export Ltd, Nureddin Abdurahman, is used to discrimination in New Zealand, after the years of racism he experienced working as a taxi driver. Drunken verbal and physical abuse aimed at Abdurahman and his colleagues was normal."
