If you have ever wondered why Centennial Drive is rated the best park In MPDC and always looks tidy it is because the Centennial Drive Development Societies volunteers on every 3rd Tuesday of the month, between 9am and 10.30am, weed, prune, plant, spray, clean and tidy and maintain the two fountains. We make our piles for KVS to take away. At 10.30am we are rewarded with morning tea with homemade savories and cakes and a catch-up natter. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
