The Art of Spoon Making: An Exhibition by Robyn Parkinson
This month at Feilding Art Centre, discover the Art of Spoon Making!
From March 15 through to April 19, Robyn Parkinson showcases the beauty of spoons and the many styles in which they exist.
Exploring the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, each of Robyn's hand-carved spoons are presented to showcase their natural beauty. Some are available to touch, hold, and to feel the imperfections of their natural form. Others are mounted and framed as art pieces, their grooves and bends shown as sculptural forms. These are contrasted again by still life paintings, domestic interiors in which Robyn presents the spoon in its "natural habitat".
Meet the Artist between 4pm and 6pm on Wednesday 16 March. Robyn will be available to answer your questions and provide a carving demo – make sure you come along!
