Okay. I have recently moved into my own home; a refurbished 1950's brick with double glazing. Insulation in both ceiling and floor.

I am wanting to get a new fire. I WAS initially very set on a pellet fire; and then when an insulation person came around he said they're only designed for old grannies.
Since then I've had others rave about them. So I am doing some more investigating before I make my decision.
For those that HAVE put them into older homes, how have you found them... pros & cons.
Would really value others honest opinions, particularly going by their own experience; especially those that have gone from a wood fire to a pellet fire.
And is Otago Pellet Fires the only place to get them from here in Dunedin?
Many thanks!

The fact whitebait are running is also another sign that nature and season are on the move. Conversely though, Milton is already thinking ahead and preparing for next winter, with the first Cosy Home Expo next Wednesday 1pm-8pm at the Milton Country Club, where people can learn all about insulation and subsidies (check out the link below). Read all about it in this week's issue, and remember, you can find most of our stories on stuff just by googling the subject. Read and enjoy. Love to hear your feedback. You'll see we've posted a number of stories, and these all contain issues that affect us all, ranging from penguins to politicians.

For example, Jan had two painters provide quotes for some painting and wallpaper work. She chose her painter and the work was completed. Two weeks later she noticed bumps and lumps in the wallpaper, that she hadn’t noticed at the time the bill was paid.
With a faulty product, you can return it and ask for a repair, replacement or refund. But that’s not so easy with a service! But Jan’s story ended well, the painter came back and rectified the problem at no cost to Jan.
