Sunday @ St Andrew's - UkuPella
UkuPella is a 20-something strong, adult female singing chorus from Waiuku. It performs all of their repertoire a capella, i.e. with no accompanying instruments. They make the whole sound through their blend of voices in three- or four-part harmony. Established in 2015, UkuPella is led by dedicated musical director Faye Meades.Their repertoire covers a mix of slower and more upbeat songs. Come along and be dazzled by their entertaining performance! Tickets are $10, which includes afternoon tea. Tickets at the door - St Andrew's Centre, 85 Queen Street, Waiuku. (NB. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
