It has been 30 years since Franklin Electric Power Board was succeeded by Counties Energy Limited and the shares vested in the Trustees of Counties Power Trust (the first Trust) - now Counties Energy Trust!
We farewelled Trustee of 16 years, Phil Beston, and welcomed our newly elected Trustee, Megan Matthews.
We appreciated receiving your feedback and questions, and most of all it was great to see so much support for your local electricity lines Trust.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Illegal dumping
This is awful how people just disregard bylaws. dump their rubbish in parks and waterways to try get away with having to pay dumping costs at the rubbish dumps and transfer stations. This also can cause flooding again due to blocking the grate of the culvert in Princes street. No thought for neighbours or damage that can be caused by their actions.
