Simple trick to keep your car looking new

Peipei from Select Valet Mobile Car Wash Auckland Franchise

With all the rain lately, I’ve noticed cars around Auckland can lose their shine pretty quickly. Thought I’d share a few simple car paint care tips that might help:

1️⃣ After rain, give your car a quick rinse
We can’t avoid the rain here, but what really harms the paint is letting dirty rainwater dry on the surface. A quick rinse or wipe-down after a rainy day helps prevent water spots and slow down rust.

2️⃣ Clean off bird droppings fast
They’re acidic and, if left too long, can leave permanent marks on the paint.

3️⃣ Be careful parking under trees
Leaves, sap and dust can leave stains, and wiping them off too roughly can scratch the surface.

✨ Quick tip: Even if your car doesn’t look dirty, giving it a basic clean every couple of weeks really helps protect the paint and keeps it looking newer for longer.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
