Hi neighbours, if you live in Flatbush, The Gardens, Alfriston, Conifer Grove or Wattle Downs, you're in NZ's newest electorate of Takanini. Labour's Dr Neru Leavasa will be your new MP. He is a local GP and bone cancer survivor who hopes moving into politics will allow him to continue to help improve health outcomes for south Aucklanders in a “broader” sense.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
