Hobsonville Point family reunited with lost pet mouse
Evie and Blossom the mice were living happily with their owner Amanda Politzer and her eight-year-old daughter Ruby at their Hobsonville Point home until the mouse enclosure was "turned upside down" by a cat about three weeks ago, leaving Evie no where to be found.
The family came to the conclusion that if Evie had survived the cat's wrath, they would probably never see her again.
But in a shock turn of events, Evie was found on Thursday by Maddie Rolston, who lives three streets away, or about 150 metres away directly.
"You hear about cats and dogs going and coming back, but you don't hear that with a mouse," Politzer said.

Auckland Harbour Bridge summer works
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is carrying out essential maintenance on the Auckland Harbour Bridge this December and January. The southbound clip-on lanes will be closed (24/7) from 26 December to 5 January for road resurfacing. Night-time lane restrictions will be in place throughout the summer for recoating work on the bridge. Traffic will still be able to travel in both directions at all times.
