Priyanca Radhakrishnan now local MP for Maungakiekie
Hi neighbours, National's Denise Lee is no longer the MP for the Maungakiekie electorate after the official election results showed Labour candidate Priyanca Radhakrishnan beat her by 635 candidate votes. Denise Lee holds the 34th spot on National's list, which means she's out of Parliament because National only has 33 seats now. If you live in One Tree Hill, that means Priyanca Radhakrishnan is now your local MP.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
