Auckland is one big long-drop

Fiona from Henderson

This is absolutely DISGRACEFUL!!!!!
How can we have such a warm summer with nowhere to swim?
No rivers, no beaches and no swimming pools are safe to swim now!!
How can we trust them to say our drinking and bathing ater is safe?
WTH!!!!! This is absolutely NOT the country I grew up in.
Sure as heck, this is not the city I want my children or grandchildren for generations to come to grow up in now.
And ... it's only getting worse.
I grew up with the clean fresh waters to swim, we were spoilt for choice.
With so much corruption, so many lazy sectors not only in the council but in our very own Government as well, well up to the last election that is, it doesn't look like it going to be fixed anytime soon :(
Maybe all the ratepayers should be asking for a refund for the water bills or stop paying them as a protest. Maybe this will wake up the council & Government to act.
There goes our clean green label that, I for one, was so proud to say about my country.
This has to be an example of what Donald Trump (gag) calls a “shithole” country!! ('scuse my language here but it was the orange man's quote)

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
