Rangitoto College student Izzie Toman dies in crash
The family of Auckland schoolgirl Isobel Toman is mourning a teen "absolutely loved by everyone who encountered her", following her death in a car crash.
Police confirmed the 17-year-old, known as Izzie, was killed after two vehicles collided on Old North Rd in Waimauku, northwest of Auckland, about 9.06pm on Wednesday.
In a statement, Izzie's family described her as a "beautiful, gentle, kind, funny, generous, talented, humble, ambitious young lady with a passion for dance and the performing arts".
Rangitoto College principal Patrick Gale said Izzie was a "motivated, enthusiastic and well-respected student" who made a "superb" contribution to the school's culture and performing arts department.
