Scaffolding has collapsed at a luxury apartment building in Takapuna overnight.
The scaffolding is understood to have fallen from a swimming pool near the base of The Sentinel tower between Huron St and Northcroft St.
As it fell, the scaffolding smashed glass awnings – leaving a pedestrian courtyard covered in smashed glass - and penetrated the roofs of nearby shops.

AUCKLAND RATES
We bought a property in Dairy Flat in 2013. The rates bill in 2014 was $1880 for a year. I today received the rates bill which is now $9985 for the year. A 500% increase in 8 years! Nothing has changed for this huge increase. We have been rezoned from rural to urban but we are still on tank water and the roads are crappier than when we came! What is this council doing with our money. They obviously think there is a bottomless pit! Shame on you Phil Goff! No wonder there are so many angry people in this country.
