Vodafone and the End of Landlines
It was interesting to read the recent post about scammers calling and saying landlines would stop working. Well it happened to me last week. Not the scammers, but the land line not working. It took me a few days to find out why. Vodafone stopped supporting landlines and have gone over to VOIP. Unfortunately, they neglected to tell me. Also unfortunate, they neglected to send over the modem necessary for the VOIP to work. So about a week without a phone. And this all happened within a month of rolling over my contract. The sales people not only neglected to tell me about the changeover to VOIP and the need for a new modem they also forgot to mention the terms of the contract changed, now limited broadband and a two year contract.
Besides this shoddy service ( makes you wonder who the real scammers are), the issue for many will be the unavailability of landlines (Sparc is also apparently going to discontinue), which some still prefer as the safe option during a power outage. As a little bit country and a little bit older, it’s a service I was willing to pay a bit more for. I know, I know...get a cellphone, but I don’t care much for them either. Ah well, the world turns. But in the meantime if your phone stops working and you use Vodafone, now you will know why.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? 🛻🚨🚓
In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?
What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?
-
36.5% The sting of a fine (Money talks!)
-
63.5% The threat of demerit points (Nobody wants to lose their license!)
