NIWA Auckland Science and Technology Fair 2022

NIWA Auckland Science Fair is an annual science competition for Year 7 - Year 13 students. These future scientists attend intermediate and secondary schools across Auckland and have had the opportunity to investigate a scientific area of interest (to them) for the past few months. They have been selected to present their work to judges from industry and education on Friday 26th August and their work will be on display for the public to view between 6-8 pm on Friday evening and Saturday 27th August 10am - 5pm at Michael Park School, Ellerslie. Public are very welcome to view the projects.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
