gentle reminder - emergency services - *PLEASE GET OUT OF THE WAY*
been meaning to post this for a while.... so so SO MANY times over recent months witnessed people/cars just simply IGNORING - emergency services - AMBULANCE - FIRE TRUCKS - POLICE
WHAT IF IT WAS YOU - IN NEED OF HELP
YOUR LOVED ONES - IN NEED OF HELP
SOME TIMES **SECONDS** *DO MATTER**
my dad taught me - GET OUT OF THEIR WAY - PULL OVER - LET THEM THROUGH
again and again and again and again and and again - WITNESSED people/cars - just COMPLETELY IGNORING EMERGENCY SERVICES
was talking to a volunteer fire fighter earlier this year - he has been driving fire trucks for 18 years - only recently - recently - they HAVE to slow down going through intersections - HAVE TO - (tracking device - new requirement) - because *people WERE NOT getting out of their way*
SECONDS CAN SAFE LIVES
oh and to the person who beeped me - (oh weeks and weeks ago - been meaning to write this for a while - witnessed so so so many more BEFORE and SINCE - FIRE TRUCKS - AMBULANCES - just not going anywhere
- people/cars - just sitting there - not getting out of their way (when they CAN - understand sometimes can't - these times - so many - PEOPLE/CARS HAVE ROOM TO GET OUT OF THE WAY..... just SITTING THERE - FIRE TRUCKS - AMBULANCES HAVING TO GO **AROUND** people/cars that could easily have gotten out of the way..
(oh and to the person who *beeped* me - what was your problem?? defensive driver me - (taught - re taught) - you were not behind me (I CHECKED!) *before* indicating THEN pulling over to the side of the road - getting out of the way of emergency vehicle going other way - seriously - beeped - what on earth?!)
I know, as usual - if you're here - preaching to the converted
- just needs to be said - if you're here - already a good neighbour - if you already know this - & do this - I don't know - maybe spread the word in person..?
don't know how else to fix this SERIOUS - potentially LIFE THREATENING ISSUE...

SCAM ALERT
Own your Online website is part of the New Zealand government's work to raise understanding of cyber security issues for individuals and businesses, they have shared a message about a new scam that is targeting Kiwis.
Own Your Online say:
We are seeing a significant increase in reporting of ‘Hi Mum’ scams.
A ‘Hi Mum’ scam is a scam where a random message from an unknown number is sent to you claiming to be from a close relative, usually your son or daughter.
The fake relative often claims their phone is broken – which is why they’re contacting you from a different number – and will ask you to do something, sometimes asking you to help them with a payment or to do something by clicking a link.
If you receive one of these, don’t click the links. Try to contact your relative using their normal number which is probably still working.
You can also report these scam messages by forwarding free to Department of Internal Affairs on 7726
