Neighbourhood Builder

Bruce from Whole 9 Yards

I have been advertising on here for nearly 11 years, in fact I’m one of the foundation members.
I have helped 100’s of you with work in your homes.
From little iddy biddy jobs to much larger work like new kitchens and bathrooms, installing new interior and exterior doors and windows, with everything in between.
I only work on the Shore; I live in Hillcrest so I’m never very far away to be able to help you.
I have an Ad in the business section if you would like to check me out.
I’m here to help you, my company motto is – ‘DIY you can’t do yourself’.
You know it is always cheaper to get someone to do the work that you aren’t sure about.
Oh, I know, the good old Kiwi adage ‘she’ll be right’, just doesn’t cut it most of the time.
We are all fantastic in our respective areas of expertise.
I do spend time with you so that I feel comfortable with the knowledge that you and I are putting together something that you want, that the design is great and workable.
Oh, I do have an offsider, Mike has 40+ years experience and I have 50+ years.
Bruce – text or call so we can set up a time for me to visit 021 212 1480

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.

While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.

And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?

Poll: Are you still heading to your local for your caffeine fix, or has the $$ changed your habits? ☕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Auckland has a thriving cafe culture, but with costs climbing, that culture is under pressure. We’ve seen the headlines about recent closures across the country, and it’s a tough pill to swallow along with a $6+ coffee.

We all want our favourite spots to stay open, but we also have to balance our own budgets ⚖️

We want to know: How are you handling the "coffee math" in 2026? Are you still heading to your local for a chat and a caffeine fix, or has the cost of living changed your habits?

Keen to read more about "coffee math"? The Post has you covered.
