St John's Charity shop🚑
Does anyone know what has happened to the St John's Charity shop that was located in Henderson, which now sits completely vacant?
I've checked on their website and the only St John shops that are now open are the followinig: Browns Bay, Howick, Manukau, Onehunga, Papakura & Wairau Park - NONE OUT WEST!
I wonder if was because the actual customers buying had dropped dramitically of the last 12 months or so.
If it is the reason, I'm not surprised as they had priced so many of their items close to retail prices as so many other second hand places seem to be doing now; Savemart is a perfect example of a second hand place doing this dreaful practice.
I know most of them are for charity and want money for their (mostly) worthy causes, but surely selling second (sometimes third or fourth) hand goods, retail pricing doesn't occur, unless it's an antique shop of course.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
