West Auckland man on long road to recovery after high-voltage electric shock
A young father of three who suffered from severe burns and had both his arms amputated after suffering an electric shock on a scaffolding worksite in West Auckland, is now on the long road to recovery.
Jahden Nelson, 28, was left fighting for his life when a steel pole he was holding touched low-hanging overhead power lines in April.
He received a severe electric shock as he took the entire voltage of the power line, and suffered a heart attack on-site after the incident. He is still receiving care as an in-patient in Middlemore Hospital.
