Hosted: ANCAD in partnership with Denise Bijoux, Catalyse

Guest Speaker: Dr Angela Doherty, Principal Science Adviser, Auckland Emergency Management

In these changing times, most of us realise that local resilience is increasingly important in times of disaster.

ANCAD is proud to be working with the Devonport Takapuna Local Board, Auckland Emergency Management and local people to plan how our local areas can be more resilient.

The focus is on four major areas:

Reduction of risks from hazards;

Readiness, awareness, preparedness and understanding;

Response to manage disasters; and

Recovery from disasters

What are the risks in your area? How can you and your local community be better prepared for disasters? And how might you manage and recover from disaster?

Save the date to join us, hear more and begin planning to improve local resilience for your community.

Please RSVP for catering purposes to info@ancad.org.nz 094864820

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
