I need a minimum of 18 people to cover costs and get it running.
I thought it would be nice to hire a musician (for a change) to be our life-model and while they play we can listen and draw them.
There won't be a tutor at all, just come along with your drawing tools and paper, and away you go! Great drawing practice for the artists and a great time for the musicians to have a very attentive audience in front of them.
I would hire a different person, and musical instrument for each workshop - Keyboard, Cello, Violin, and Guitar.
I have penciled in 4 afternoons, spanning every two weeks over Term 3. The first one will be on Saturday 25th July - 2.30 - 4.30 pm, at -Te Whare Ora, 37 Uxbridge Road, Howick.
The other dates are - 8th & 22nd August & 5th Sept.
The cost of each two-hour workshop will be $20.00
The name Musocoal is put together from Music or Muso and Charcoal.
Also if I do achieve the workshop numbers, I will be looking for competent musicians to play and model for us, so if you know of someone who plays any of those instruments mentioned above, I would like to hear from them. I would pay for your time.
I realize 2 hours is a long time to play but they wouldn't have to play all the time, they could just sit still at different times throughout it. We will have breaks as well. Probably softer music would be appropriate.
If you are interested in trying your hand at drawing a musician while they played please let me know and I will place your name on the list.
Cheers

Police say they have exhausted all leads for finding Eloi Rolland, 18, who has been missing from Auckland for almost four months.
The teen, who has limited English, has not been seen since he was captured on CCTV at the Britomart train station on March 7, where he caught a train to New Lynn's Fruitvale Rd station. It's understood he was in the vicinity of Piha Rd and Scenic Drive at 9.18am, but this is where the trail ends.
After more than 1600 hours searching for Rolland, police ended the physical search in May, pending reports of new information or evidence.
Rolland's sister, Aurore Rolland, told Stuff the family were "really sad" the search had been suspended.
"We [are at] the point where we are waiting for a miracle. We believe [he] is not dead in the sea at Piha Beach. Things need to be done, even if we have to search during our entire life."

I have called the workshop - 'Musocoal' - part Muso and Charcoal.
There will be light refreshments at half time. So bring your pencils, pens, charcoal, sketching paper whatever and enjoy the afternoon.
I will provide an A4 clipboard but if you want to go bigger that will be up to you to bring something to lean on. It will be tutor-less so you can explore drawing in your own way. Don't worry if you haven't done it before or not, just give it a go! Could be the start of a new thing for you! Phone or text Megan = 021 1085419
