Poll: Are you happy owning your own home, or renting?

Paul Reporter from Stuff

Are we happier owning our own home or renting?

It turns out one answer does not fit all.

Some people feel more "grounded" owning their own home, giving them the feeling they're planning for the future and creating a legacy. But there are people who think the opposite. Read more

Progress on the sea wall at Cockle Bay

Barry from Cockle Bay

There is a problem with the angle of the rocks not as per the design so they are being adjusted
but soft sand has slowed progress. Even tracked vehicles get stuck.

I am looking at selling some really cute, good quality baby clothes that my Precious Little Treasure has grown out of. They range in size from 0000-0-3 months.
They come from a smokefree home which is a plus!
Photos going from left to right are the smallest size to the odds and ends.

I was thinking singles from $2-$5 and bundles of 3 for $10 and 4 for $15
(I have a number of double-ups)

If interested, please private message me your interest and I can send better photos on request

Grab yourself a bargain! 😊

I've launched a petition calling on Auckland Transport to remove the T2/Bus lane from Pakuranga Road and prioritise the Reeves Road Flyover.

Locals have told me their travel time from Howick to Panmure is taking 40+ minutes some days - an unacceptable amount of time - and it has created confusion around the Gossamer Drive intersection. I support AT's desire to increase public transport usage, but not at the expense of the majority of commuters and certainly not with half-baked solutions like this.

The Eastern Busway and Reeves Road Flyover are projects this community desperately wants, as they will both make a real difference to congestion issues in the area. If you support this view, please sign the petition on my website. simeonbrown.national.org.nz...

We need change , we need a mayor that will return democracy to the ratepayers. A Mayor that will open the books and bring public assets back under democratic control. Our local boards have no power to get the results we need. The Super City is a travesty of democracy.

On 5 August our Village Manager, Bruce Cullington, hosted a celebration-lunch for all our residents over 90.

Our latest nonagenarian’s population has grown, and it was amazing to see how well they are all doing. Our lovely guests were spoilt with gifts from Acacia Cove and the Residents’ Committee.

It was an afternoon filled with laughter, reminisces and a lovely two course meal.

As you probably know, the latest addition to our lovely Village, five brand new apartments, were completed last month.

However, here at Acacia Cove we like to keep thinks interesting, so we decided to build two new Villas.

Construction on these started recently, and if all goes well, it should be completed before the end of the year.
