Senior Constable Don Allan's monthly newsletter

Colleen from Onehunga

Hi Neighbours,
Don comments the residential & vehicle crime incidents reported to police throughout May increased by 46 % compared to April.

Of note, some of our local residents have reported a suspicious male wearing a high vis vest, riding a lime scooter around our neighbourhoods scoping properties. If you see this activity occurring call police immediately on 111.
_______
Don's community policing team have been extremely productive dealing with a spate of shoplifting from our local supermarket.
We are all pretty aware of the ongoing, constant problems there.
There's more positive info in the newletter in regard to this situation

There's an important community notice for a public meeting on 4th July focusing on safety where Don welcomes all to discuss what can be done to address these local concerns.
In attendance will be our MP, Police, Onehunga Community patrol, Neighbourhood support etc.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
