Community Constable Don Allan's May newsletter
Good afternoon Neighbours,
Don states that last month property was up 1.3% from the previous month, 59% reported happened during the day which is common whereas industrial burglaries tend to be targeted at night.
Last month police recovered twenty-eight stolen motor vehicles in our community.
13 of these vehicles were recovered in the Onehunga area, 6 in Royal Oak, 5 in Epsom,3 in Penrose and 1 in Hillsborough. Don has personally recovered a number of these, many he states were due to vigilant residents noticing unfamiliar cars abandoned in their streets.
Number plate theft is ongoing with 74 stolen in Auckland in the last 28 days. ( see the email - onehunga@cpnz.org.nz ) on how to get temper proof screws fitted.
Stolen motorcycles -28 stolen within Auckland, the majority of those stolen being Japanese brands such as Yamaha’s Suzuki's, Honda’s and Kawasaki’s.

See the attachment for Royal Oak/Epsom. Penrose. etc
Again Don offers advise to reduce burglary opportunities.
PLEASE pass this onto as many people as you can because I keep seeing ongoing contents stolen out of vehicles , which is fairly easy I think to stop it before it starts e.g. golf club, phones, lap tops, tools etc.
Thanks again to Don for keeping us informed :-)
Regards
Colleen
