Hand-reared fairy tern chick released into the wild

Kendall Hutt Reporter from Central Leader

Hi neighbours. Some cute content for your Friday - The first fairy tern chick hand-reared since the 1990s has been released into the wild. The chick was hatched and reared at Auckland Zoo before it was transferred to a purpose-built aviary near a breeding site and released. Conservationists hope the successful rearing of the chick stands them in great stead for future efforts with fairy terns.
