My current pet peeve🤨😠
This message/post is to address EVERY single truck driver driving on the roads lately.
Now to some of you, this won't apply, but I can be fairly sure that you will know someone who falls into this offending catergory.
So many questions.
Why do trucks drivers driving all sizes and lengths of trucks seem to want to take up space on every single lane on the motorways?
Why do they feel the need to drive side by side thus blocking all the traffic behind them?
Is it a truckie funny secret or do they score points by doing this amongst one another?
Why do these same trucks feel the need to be travelling well over their legally allowed top speed of 90kms, with so many travelling up and above 100kms?
According to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi: "When driving a heavy vehicle you must ensure: you don't drive faster than 90km/h in a 100km/h zone (90km/h is the maximum open road speed limit for all heavy vehicles, except school buses, which are limited to 80km/h)"
To the truck drivers who actually do travel at the correct speed, why do you want to be in the fast lane? Why will you not move over and let those of us who are travvelling at 100kms pass?
This very well could be one of the biggest reasons as to why the traffic in Auckland is 100% up the wazoo!! Inconsiderate and selfish drivers.
While so many car drivers, motor cyclists etc ... will go above and beyond to be considerate to truck drivers, knowing full well that the trucks are bigger and would/could do so much more damage to little old me in a car, the very same considerations could not be said about so many truck drivers.
Sadly, I will have to include bus drivers here now as they seemed to have been recruited into some 'King of the Road' club and all rules are off the table!! Their rules are their rules and the road rules can be damned.
While we are here, why do truck drivers and bus drivers feel the need to stop so close behind me, that I could open the boot, reach back and shake their hands?
The signs on some trucks read, "If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you" - surely the same rule applies to us car drivers with a tweak about parking and driving so close behind us.
If we have to stop suddenly, you drivers of the big vehicles will not be able to stop immedialtey.
The attached photo isn't one I took, but gives an indication of what i'm saying (up further on the south bound lane), on both sides of the motorway.
Even the computer generated picture promoting road rules, has the exact same issue.
So please, for the love of all that you love, drive safely, drive to the conditions and drive to the road rules.
Be considerate and aware of those around you and that way, we can all move with alot less stress and concerns.
To the company owners, please monitor your drivers and that way we will not have to be calling you every damn day reporting yet another bad drick driver!
We don't want to call the Police every time, but we will if nothing is done.
P.S. THE INDICATOR IS OUR BEST FRIEND!
🧩😏 Riddle me this, Neighbours…
I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I?
Do you think you know the answer?
