Have 20 or so in pots. These range from 30cm to 80cm. They all have good root systems and are growing along quite nicely. Some have twin Stems.We also have 10 still in soil against the fence. These are also growing very well indeed. Size 90cm to 120cm Single stalk only.
I still feel that "Lucky Plant" or not they are a most gracious plant to have Inside (Refresh your Air) or on Apartment Decks (For those of you who live in Apartments) or any other situation. A nice Clay Pot should be considered. Maintenance, a little water weekly + bit of plant food now & again. If they should assume Beanstalk (Jack type) proportions just lop a few inches off the top. It does them no harm. They are a most tidy/Good Looking (Maybe Lucky for you we hope) Plant to have around and about. Single Plant $15.00 2 for $25.00 or 4 For $40.00. You pick and choose and if required I will dig up those in garden. "Fred" sitting on the chair photo is a Twin stem, he lives with us. DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, weβre a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature β and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
