I want to stress, that we are NOT against the cycleway but feel that AT needs to find a way to retain the car parks AND have the cycleway. We feel that by removing all but a few car parks it will create additional stress to the already limited space along the road, affecting local businesses revenue and resident and visitor parking. As a resident on Point Chevalier Rd I know that on road car parking space is already limited, I have seen 2 accounts of screaming matches due to parking stress and know that in the future as the population grows, this stress will get worse. To take such a drastic move to remove almost all car parks is unnecessary and not an accurate reflection of that this area needs. The cycleway and car parking can co-exist perfectly well together.
Please address this issue on the AT forms you received today on this issue to support local businesses and the future wellbeing of this area.
Thank you in advance!
