Child Care Spaces Available
Hi everyone. I'm a homebased childcare educator for Kia Ora Kids at Home Childcare. I have one over 2 and a few days for an under 2 space available. I have been a care educator for 9 years and live in Sunnynook and regularly attend playgroups, go to mainly music, the library, parks, playgrounds, beaches and have lots of indoor and outdoor toys available. I love to do arts and crafts and science experiments with the kids. The smaller child-educator ratio allows better quality care and less bugs spreading. Kia Ora Kids offers subsidies to families that meet the WINZ criteria and 20h completetly FREE for 3 & 4 year olds. Hourly rate is $6.50. if you are interested send me a message. DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, weβre a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature β and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
