YOGA MVMT - Renew yourself and learn how to to move with more ease, to build strength, and to de-stress
Ella Richardson MVMT is about learning to move in your most optimal way.
Ella uses a progressive form of yoga to facilitate the exploration of mindfulness, coordination, mobility and stability. She is passionate about helping people move better by teaching them how to incorporate a stable core and strong posture into optimal movement patterns, and rewiring the brain to body connection by repeating these patterns so that new habits are formed.
In her classes, you will learn how to use your breath to stabilise your core. You will be encouraged to stay connected and to move with your breath as you explore how your body can navigate different positions with ease. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in Ella’s classes. She prefers that rather than worrying whether you’re doing it “right”, you seek what feels right for you. She offers different variations at every turn, along with opportunities to move between poses at your own pace, so that you can focus on your body's responses to the movement.
Ella uses traditional yoga poses as well as some not so traditional! She aims to use poses that reflect movements that the human body is designed to do. You can expect to work up some heat during class, as Ella is a firm believer in building strength as you move. Getting muscles firing is a priority, to ensure that they are doing their most optimal work in stabilising and moving you on your mat.
Ella loves the "A-ha" moments when she can feel a pose or movement become stronger, more stable or more efficient. She especially loves to feel that same coordination switch on during her normal day-to-day routine. This is the experience Ella wants to share with her students. She says, "...once you begin to cultivate mindfulness around your movement on the mat, it becomes a habit that ripples out into your daily life."

Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
