Smile like an angel
Oh my gosh, my new smile without braces.
Finally, I got my braces removed. Oh, what a pleasant smile, yippie. It was a smooth journey to my beautiful smile and straight teeth. Just when you think the end is near, the orthodontist tells you that wearing retainers after braces is not an option — it's a requirement.
I believe him when he says that the success of the orthodontic treatment depends upon diligently wearing a retainer.
.
But why retainers are necessary?
.
Before I got braces, Lutz and Claudia, the orthodontist carefully analyzed my teeth and jaws to develop the best treatment plan to move my teeth into proper alignment. Because teeth are securely held in place by bone and ligaments, it is not easy to move them. Orthodontic appliances put mechanical forces on the teeth to trigger changes in the ligaments and bone to allow movement. This is a slow, carefully planned process, and the teeth move into the correct position.
.
The bite is corrected, and my teeth look great, but they are not stabilized in their new spot yet. It takes time for the bone and ligaments to retighten and hold the teeth securely in place.
Retainers are vital to preserving the great result that the orthodontist was able to achieve.
I am more than happy with my new smile and want to keep it like that.
.
Thank you, Claudia, Lutz & team, for my new beautiful Bachmannsmile.
I love my smile all over the moon. Luna

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
