Will a banana peel give you a brighter smile?

Bachmann Orthodontics

Bananas make great additions to smoothies and bread, but can they help give you a whiter smile?
The amount of minerals in bananas and their peels has led some people to think the skin can whiten teeth.
The claim is that all you need to do is rub the inside of the peel on your teeth for a couple of minutes before or after you brush them. The American Dental Association (ADA) doesn't offer an opinion on the use of banana peels to whiten teeth. The ADA's advice is simple: Don't do it.
While you can enjoy the nutritional benefits of fruits by eating them, you won't get positive results when you try to whiten your teeth with them. The high acid content in many fruits can end up hurting your teeth, not helping them.
If you clean your teeth three times a day, you will have a beautiful smile with your natural teeth colour.
What can we do to make you smile?
Make an appointment today 09 448 1128, and ask about what we can do for you, to become a perfect Bachmannsmile.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
