:

•Clean chimneys and flues before you light the first fire of the season.

•Always use a fireguard or spark-guard when using an open fire.

•Never throw rubbish into the fireplace – particularly batteries and aerosol cans.

•Always empty ashes and ashtrays into a metal bin and pour water over them before disposal. Remember that ashes can take up to 5 days to cool.

•Keep matches, lighters and anything else that can create fire out of reach of children.

Hi,

I am writing to you to kindly request your participation in a questionnaire survey. You are especially qualified to speak to the research query examined in this investigation. The survey will ask you questions about your attitudes and perceptions about reclaimed and recycled building materials.

You have been invited to participate because you are one of the stakeholders who has an influence on this market (anyone who lives in New Zealand is a potential stakeholder). If you agree to take part you will complete a survey and you can also try your chance in the prize draw (50$ voucher and 5 coffee vouchers). The survey will take you 20 minutes to complete.

I would be very thankful if you could send this message to your staff and colleagues, since that would be helpful in persuading my research project. More clarifications can be found in the introduction page of the survey.

Please click the link below to go to the survey Web site (or copy and paste the link into your Internet browser).

Spent the weekend involuntarily investigating Auckland’s hospital system. My family has a history of clogged arteries which despite being a virtuous non smoker I have been unable to escape.

So I ended up Saturday morning at Auckland Hospital for an angioplasty and a few stents. Procedure went well and I’m hassling the doctor to let me go home. Hopefully tomorrow and after a few days of working from home, I’ll be back at work.

A big thanks first to doctors, nurses and staff. They been really great, both professional and caring. They are a wonderful cross section of multicultural Auckland. It’s fantastic that in our country people get the urgent treatment they need and according to that need and not ability to pay.

Thanks also for the kind messages from so many people. Heartfelt appreciation!

The painting was done by my lovely granddaughter Brooklyn.
