Successful Fundraising for Sweet Louise

Hira Siddiqui from Citizens Advice Bureau Pakuranga/Eastern Manukau

๐Ÿ’• Last Friday, the volunteers at Botany and Pakuranga CABs held a fundraiser for Sweet Louise. Sweet Louise supports men and women with advanced (incurable) breast cancer.

๐ŸŒธ We enjoyed a shared lunch with quite a pink theme! The baking quiz wasn't as easy as some thought with the question about Snickerdoodle biscuits catching people out. But we had fun. ๐Ÿ™‚ Many thanks to the Social Team for making sure it was an occasion to remember. ๐Ÿ‘

Grateful thanks to our sponsors and supporters and a big shoutout to freshchoicehalfmoonbay for donating a very generous hamper for the occasion.

We would also like to thank Carolyn Bruce Designs - Statement Jewelry for donating some of her gorgeous work for our fundraiser. ๐Ÿ’•
We were thrilled to raise $1183. ๐Ÿ™

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, thereโ€™s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need ๐Ÿช™๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿช™

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship โ€” like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA)

From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).

During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.

There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
