Meet costumed villagers crafting up a storm in the parlour of the grand homestead, Puhi Nui! Make a rag rug from fabric scraps or learn about hand-crank sewing.

Churn butter and make your own beeswax candle to take home. Learn the art of bookbinding with members of the Association of Book Crafts. See the blacksmiths at work at the forge and the coal range fired-up. Taste freshly baked bread, hot from the bread oven and visit the sweet shop filled with old-fashioned lollies and fudge!

With craft activities, outdoor games, and performances - Morris dancing at 10:30am & 11:30am bagpipe band at 12pm - there will be lots of fun for everyone! Have brunch or lunch Homestead Café and make a day of it!

Admission: adult $18, student/senior $14, child $10, family $46. Children under 5, members & annual pass holders - free entry.

Harbour bridge incident

A police incident is causing delays on Auckland Harbour Bridge on Wednesday afternoon.

What you need to know:
- The two left northbound lanes (lane 1 & 2 of 4) are blocked on the Harbour Bridge.
- Traffic is backed up to Newmarket heading north on both the Northern and Southern motorways.

What you need to know:
- The two left northbound lanes (lane 1 & 2 of 4) are blocked on the Harbour Bridge.
- Traffic is backed up to Newmarket heading north on both the Northern and Southern motorways.
- Auckland Transport have advised that bus routes 82, 866, 923, 931, 933, 939, 95B, 95C, 966 97B, 97R, NX1, NX2 have been delayed.
- NZTA is asking commuters to merge with care and expect delays.
- Google Maps is showing a delay of 39 minutes.

Police investigating an assault on a bus travelling through the Pakuranga area on Friday 28 June are seeking assistance from the public.

At about 9.15am the victim was on a bus heading from Howick towards Auckland City along Pakuranga Road.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant James Mapp, Counties Manukau East CIB, says an unknown woman then hopped on the bus before assaulting the victim with an object.
“This was an unprovoked assault, which left the victim with serious facial injuries.
“The offender has alighted from the bus prior to Police arrival.
“We understand the fear and concern events like this inflict on the community and we will continue to pursue every lead to hold this person to account.
“Police have no tolerance for this type of crime or intimidation in our communities.
“We are also providing support to the victim and want to reassure the community we are working hard to locate the person responsible.”

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Mapp says Police are continuing to make enquiries into the matter and would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident.
If anyone witnessed the incident of has any information which may assist, we urge them to contact Police on 105 and quote file number 240628/8342.
Alternatively, you can report any information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
