New Kiwi album opens NZ Music Month on She'll Be Right, Saturday from 3pm

Phil from Farm Cove

A brand new album work by Steve Edwards – Born – that is out soon opens New Zealand Music Month with a special treat feature on the She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time, May 7) on East FM.
We’re looking forward to the release of Born, as its emergence has been delayed by you-know-what, but it’s worked out after all in time for Kiwi Music Month, as four singles are now out: Colour of Blood, Born, Fallen, and Happysad, released today (May 6).
Steve’s an accomplished, intelligent, life-wise songwriter and vocalist, whose works on Born are presented and arranged perfectly by a great band of musicians, featuring chief collaborator, producer and bassist, Bob Shepherd. Superb guitar playing.
The Aucklander, originally from Greymouth, spent a long time in the UK honing his craft and worked with some big-name players and received accolades, including having his song One By One chosen as record of the week on BBC Radio Two in 2007.
We’ll be chatting live with Steve at 4.45pm before spinning an advanced copy of 10-track Born from 5pm on She’ll Be Right, which has a NZ-only playlist during music month policy, lol.

The following is from Steve Edwards’ media release of May 6, which pretty much sums it up:
Edwards excels both as a composer of engaging and often nostalgic melodies, and as a songwriter who finds the most magical ways to connect with his audience through his own form of poetry.
His upcoming album, Born, consists of deftly crafted songs reflecting the creator’s life today.
Many are personal - Fall From Grace addresses the infamous birthday party incident, for example.
“This time around, I wanted to keep things real and write songs for people like me who have lived a bit of life,” says Steve, about the creation of the album.
Authentic and coming from a deeper place of the soul, Steve Edwards’ art is bound to resonate with millions seeking meaning and life-changing experiences through music.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
